: About Lorraine Daley :
I am a full time professional photographer, born and raised in Philadelphia. PA. After receiving a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, I worked in Finance, then Information Technology. At age 27, I picked up a camera and never looked back. I am self-taught and have been working as a photographer for 10 years.
I have varied and distinctive bodies of work, which include architectural photography, conceptual photography and portraiture. I am highly influenced by all forms of art, music and dance. The Dutch masters, the Italian Renaissance, Cubism, Expressionism, film noir, the rave scene of the 90s, Japanese wabi-sabi and modern urban culture have had major influence on my aesthetic. The minimalism of Zen has had one of the biggest impacts on the way I compose and create images. Elimination of all non-essential elements in an image is of highest priority.
Besides photography, I practice yoga and meditation and extensively study spirituality, religion and metaphysics. I love food and enjoy both cooking and eating. I have an incurable case of wanderlust. My husband and studio manager, Greg Marcel and I, travel extensively, eating, taking pictures and meeting people.
