- ABOUT ME -
I've been a photographer for over 23 years, and in that time I've photographed thousands of people from all over the world. Portraits, personal branding, families, weddings, editorial, fashion. People in studios and in doorways and in open fields and on rooftops in Mexico City.
I'm based in Waynesboro, Virginia, and I serve the Shenandoah Valley, Charlottesville, Staunton, Harrisonburg, and the East Coast. I hold a B.A. in Psychology and Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, which sounds like an unlikely credential for a photographer until you realize that everything I do is about people: what they carry, how they hold themselves, what they're afraid to let you see.
My job is to make that part easier. Every session starts with nerves. That's normal. What I do is slow it down, talk you through it, and stay patient until something true comes through. That's the image worth making.
I'm also a published author, a contemplative writer, and a teacher. I believe in the power of being truly seen.
